What is chiropractic care?
Chiropractic focuses on assessing and managing problems involving the muscles, joints and spine, particularly those affecting movement and causing pain.
Treatment often involves hands-on techniques such as spinal adjustments, joint mobilisation and soft tissue work. Exercise and advice can also form an important part of care.
Not everyone needs the same treatment, and chiropractic doesn't always involve an adjustment. We'll discuss the options with you and explain what we recommend.

What happens at your first appointment?

We listen
We'll ask about your symptoms, health history and how the problem affects your everyday life, including what you'd like to get back to doing.

We examine
We'll carry out a physical examination relevant to your symptoms, which may include checking your movement, muscles, joints and nerves.

We explain
We'll discuss our findings and the options available. If appropriate, your first treatment can be included in this appointment.
X-rays when they're needed
Most people don't need an X-ray before chiropractic treatment. If your assessment suggests imaging would be useful, we have digital X-ray facilities on site, with images reviewed by a consultant radiologist.
Your first appointment usually takes around 45 minutes and includes time to understand your symptoms, carry out an examination and discuss your options.
If further investigation, referral or another appointment is needed, we'll explain why and discuss any additional costs beforehand.
